Restaurant
Information - There are several places where you can
purchase (halal) food at the University of Toronto at
Mississauga.
South Building:
-
Tim Hortons
- Various selected items are served.
-
Pizza Pizza - Vegetarian and non-meat Pizzas are
served. These are cut using knives separate from those
cutting meat Pizzas.
-
Spiegel - serves Al-Safa chicken burgers which are
known to be halaal.
Hot Dog Stand - To the best of our knowledge, these
hot dogs are grilled on the same grill as the non-halaal hot
dogs and are therefore considered haraam. The status of this
food is doubtful.
CCIT Building:
Circuit Break Cafe - Serves delicious cookies and
many beverages which are all halaal.
-
Also serves two kinds of Sandwiches: Meat (Not halaal) and
Veggie (two types: with cheese and without cheese)
-
Veggie Sandwiches without cheese seem to be
permissible to eat.
-
Some Salads contain bacon.
North Building:
Note: Above is
the status of foods currently served on campus to the best
of our knowledge. The responsibility of eating halaal still
lies on the individual though so please don't take our word
for it. Find out for yourself.
